THE WORD SILOAM…

…is found in John 9 – the name of a pool to which Jesus sends a man born blind to wash and be healed. It comes from a Hebrew root word which means “to let go, to set free, to shoot forth, to send.” I find it fascinating that this man was sent even before his healing was manifested! His healing was dependent upon his obedience, and both his healing and obedience were immediately made public because everyone that had previously seen him begging now saw him walking around with his sight! They did not believe he was the same man, and he was immediately forced to testify, to proclaim the truth about the man who had healed him. The man’s testimony was essentially this: “I don’t know about all that other stuff. All I know is that he healed me! I was blind, but now I see!”

I too can testify to the healing power of Jesus Christ in my life and heart. My blindness wasn’t physical, but it was just as debilitating. Then one day He opened my eyes and told me to GO, and all of a sudden I found myself in Mexico as a missionary with Alternative Missions, Inc. Yet, it was after I obeyed and went that I discovered how deep that healing had reached.

There is no other place I’d rather be than living in the adventure that Christ has set before me ministering in Mexico with the A.M. team. I invite you to come along with me on this wild ride of faith, fight, and promises fulfilled! Check out the blog to find out what’s going on in life and ministry. Check the calendar to find out about events that are being planned. See pictures and prayer needs, and visit links that you find here. There is nothing that will get in God’s way to complete His plan. As Jesus said to one father, “Everything is possible for him who believes.” The horizons are ours for the taking. Now, we just have to decide which one to start with!
